Even for those working in software development or IT—not in physics or chemistry—it may soon be impossible to ignore quantum computing.But does that mean we need to learn quantum mechanics? The answer is both Absolutely Yes! and, in a sense, Maybe just a little yes.

Conclusion:

Take the Hadamard transform, for example. If we let the time evolution operator U(t) above proceed up to t=π/Ω, the result becomes exactly the same as applying the Hadamard gate. In other words, we no longer need to go back to the Schrödinger equation to understand it. That’s great news for IT engineers!
